BloodHound Q50 Reportedly Killed in Chicago Shooting at 22

Sad news for the Chicago rap scene. BloodHound Q50, one of the rising names from Chicago's newest drill generation, has been reported killed following an early-morning shooting on Chicago's South Side.

Chicago police said a 22-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday morning in the 4200 block of South Wentworth Avenue in Fuller Park. According to the initial police account reported by ABC7 Chicago, the victim was sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle when two vehicles pulled alongside and gunfire erupted.

The victim was struck in the chest and shoulder and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

Important: ABC7's initial police-based report did not publicly identify the victim by name. Subsequent Chicago and hip-hop media reports identified the victim as rapper BloodHound Q50.

A Young Chicago Rap Career That Was Still Growing

BloodHound Q50 had become one of the recognizable young voices emerging from Chicago's latest drill movement.

His growing catalog included records such as "Big 3," "Coffin," "Splash Bros," "Triple 3" and "BH4L." His rise eventually led to a deal with Signal Records under Columbia.

What makes Sunday's news particularly difficult for fans is how active Q50's career remained. Just days before the shooting, he released the official video for "Too Stuck" on September 9.

His story wasn't supposed to end here.
