Don Walker & Tainted Gospel Musick: Independent Hip-Hop, Real Stories and Building His Own Lane

CHI-RAP.COM | Artist Spotlight | October 19, 2026

In hip-hop, everybody hears about the major labels, platinum records, and superstar collaborations. But behind the headlines are independent artists building their own catalogs, developing their sound, and finding ways to get their music heard.

One artist worth putting on the radar is Don Walker, whose releases are connected to Tainted Gospel Musick.

Don Walker — The Independent Grind

Don Walker has released music under the Tainted Gospel Musick name, including “Hustle Daily,” released February 19, 2026.

The title captures something familiar to independent musicians: the daily work of creating, promoting, and building an audience without depending on the mainstream music industry.

Another Walker release, “An 8th,” arrived September 29, 2025, with credits identifying Tainted Gospel Musick and GiAri Entertainment.

Tainted Gospel Musick — More Than an Interesting Name

The name Tainted Gospel Musick immediately grabs attention.

It brings together two words that seem to pull in different directions. Gospel suggests faith, truth, and redemption, while tainted suggests the imperfections and complications of real life.

That contrast could make for a powerful musical identity. But what does the name actually mean to Don Walker and the people behind it? That's a question CHI-RAP.COM hopes to explore directly with the artist.

Why Independent Artists Matter

Chicago hip-hop wasn't built on major-label success alone. Independent artists, neighborhood studios, local DJs, promoters, and music supporters have all contributed to the city's sound.

And that independent spirit extends well beyond Chicago.

Artists like Don Walker are part of a larger music landscape where musicians can release songs, connect with listeners, and develop their careers through their own efforts.

For CHI-RAP.COM, covering independent music means going beyond the biggest names and giving listeners opportunities to discover something different.
