Jean Deaux Returns With “Immaculate” and a Self-Directed New Visual
Jean Deaux is back—and she's controlling both the music and the image.
The Chicago rapper, singer-songwriter and filmmaker released “Immaculate” on September 25, marking her first new offering of the year.
Produced by longtime collaborator Blake Wright, the record puts Deaux's lyricism back at the center while continuing the mix of rap, R&B and alternative music that has defined much of her career.
She also directed the accompanying visual herself, reinforcing the creative independence that makes Jean Deaux particularly interesting in Chicago's current music landscape.
